Priyank Maindola, Ph.D.
Position title: Scientist I

Priyank joined the UW–Madison Cryo-EM Research Center (CEMRC) and the Midwest Center for Cryo-Electron Tomography (MCCET) in January 2023. He did his postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Prof. Marc Morais at the Sealy Center for Structural Biology and Molecular Biophysics in the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston where he studied bacteriophage, bacteriophage DNA encapsidation protein, and FtsK-like DNA translocase/ATPase by single-particle cryo-electron microscopy. Prior to that, he worked on a BASF – Institute Pasteur collaborative research project on GABA-RDL membrane protein receptor of insects where he applied protein biochemistry and electron microscopy techniques. He received his PhD from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi, where he did structural studies on plasmid fertility inhibition protein factors.
