Eliseo joined the UW–Madison Department of Biochemistry in October 2025 as a Research Scientist at the UW–Madison Cryo-EM Research Center (CEMRC). He received his B.S. in Biochemistry from St. Mary’s University. In 2017, he earned his M.S. in Biochemistry from Texas State University, where he studied the binding interactions between collagen-coding mRNAs and the RNA-binding protein LARP6 under the mentorship of Dr. Karen Lewis. In 2025, he completed his Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Emory University, working with Dr. Bo Liang on viral-host interactions. His dissertation focused on antibody interactions with hemagglutinin from the H5N1 virus.
Eliseo’s research interests include training new users in single-particle cryo-EM and expanding into cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) at the Cryo-EM Research Center.
