The Department of Biochemistry (https://biochem.wisc.edu/) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a new faculty position to build on its strength in biochemical research. This position is central to our multi-year hiring plan in the broad topic areas of in vivo biochemistry, imaging, and complex biosystems. The successful applicant will be expected to create an ambitious, internationally recognized, well-funded research programs while furthering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sciences.
The Department provides outstanding support and a stimulating research environment within the highly collaborative research community at UW-Madison. The successful applicant will join a dynamic faculty with broad interests in the biochemical sciences, including structural biology, metabolism, imaging, cell and molecular biology, nucleic acids, synthetic and systems biology, chemical biology, and computational modeling. The scientific environment at UW-Madison is enhanced by state-of-the-art facilities for high-throughput sequencing, computation, microscopy, cryo-EM, NMR, mass spectrometry, crystallography, animal care, and small-molecule screening.
The position is an academic (9-month) tenure-track (junior) or tenured (mid-career or senior) faculty position. It carries a commitment to the three important functions of instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to Faculty rank.
